Bruce M. Wakeman

Vice President, Life Sciences Business Development

With over 20 years of experience in clinical trial management, operations, and business development, Bruce is an expert at building and expanding business development teams while creating lasting relationships within the Biopharmaceutical Industry community. As Inteliquet’s VP of Life Sciences Business Development, Bruce is dedicated to expanding the commercial division and delivering Inteliquet’s solutions to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research organizations (CROs).

Prior to joining Inteliquet, Bruce served as Vice President of Business Development for Americas and Global Inside Sales with Pharm-Olam. He developed and mentored the US Business Development team, evaluated US BD team structure and processes, and created key differentiation and value proposition messaging. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Bruce was involved in Strategic Partnership Governance and Strategic Client Governance, led the overall US sales strategy collaboratively with Operations, Marketing, Proposals, and other internal groups, and worked closely with the EU Business Development Leadership to coordinate US sales and global account strategy and execution.

As Vice President of US Business Development at Accelovance, Bruce created key differentiation and value proposition messaging, developed and mentored a US and EU Business Development Team, and led the integration of BD, Inside Sales, Lead generation, and marketing. He also worked closely with the EU Business Development Leadership to coordinate US sales and global account strategy and execution.

Bruce was also Chief Commercial Officer at CRO Analytics, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and presented sales and marketing data to potential investors. Bruce developed and implemented overall Lead generation and sales strategy and processes, and his sales and marketing strategies resulted in 25 Qualified opportunities in the first six months with $2.6 million in immediate value with more than $10 million in pull-through opportunity.

Before that, he served as Vice President of US Business Development with Worldwide Clinical Trials. Establishing an inside sales division, Bruce led the integration of BD, Inside Sales, Lead generation and Marketing. He worked closely with the EU Business Development Leadership to coordinate US sales and global account strategy and execution while supporting Account Managers in the pursuit and closing of new business and all other activity involving client management and relations. Bruce’s innovative changes to BD structure, Lead identification and client focus resulted in an 80% sales increase.

Other senior positions include Senior Vice President of US Business Development for Aptiv Solutions (ICON), Vice President of Alliance and Business Development at INC Research, Vice President of US Business Development for Premier Research Group, and Executive Director of US Business Development at Premier Research Group (Formerly SCIREX).

Bruce earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina.
